City Reports 14 Arrests Among Revelers After Cubs Win World Series

CHICAGO (CBS) -- For the most part, Cubs fans seemed to keep their celebrations relatively peaceful after the team's historic World Series victory Wednesday, but the revelry did get a little out of hand in a few instances.

Media colleagues at Telemundo saw that first hand when one of their live trucks was trashed by unruly fans, who broke out the windshield and flung garbage at the truck.

City officials said a total of 14 people were arrested.

"The celebration of the Cubs historic World Series win by hundreds of thousands of fans was largely peaceful, with 14 arrests mostly for disorderly and reckless conduct," said Melissa Stratton, spokeswoman for the Office of Emergency Management and Communications.

City officials didn't immediately provide details on most of the arrests. However, at least one was the result of throwing objects at police.

Near the corner of Ashland and Addison, less than a mile from Wrigley Field, at least one person was arrested after people threw debris at police. A police spokesperson said extra units were called in, and the situation was quickly resolved.

Elsewhere, some people were seen climbing on top of a Chicago Streets and Sanitation Department truck, but they climbed down when ordered by police. Many others were seen climbing traffic light and street light poles through the night.

Others were seen climbing onto the façade at Wrigley Field during and after the game.
