Female Ford Employees: We Were Sexually Harassed At Chicago Plant
(CBS) -- Allegations of sexual harassment, discrimination and retaliation – all are part of a federal lawsuit newly filed by a group of female employees at Chicago's Ford Motor Co. assembly plant.
Defendant Ford Motor Co. said in a statement that it is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and that it takes reports of harassment and discrimination seriously.
But four women plaintiffs tell a different story about their treatment as employees at the Chicago plant.
"It's been a total nightmare," Christie Van says.
When she complained to her supervisors, Van says nothing was done.
"I experienced asking one of my supervisors for a charger for my phone and he in return showed me a picture of his penis," she says.
Another Ford employee, Maria Price, says she has been groped, harassed and bullied.
"It got so bad where I was given ultimatums," Price says.
She says she was ordered to attend "sex parties" and called to the office to give sexual favors to managers.
The women's attorney says Chicago's Ford plant is a "broken system."
This is a class-action lawsuit and asks for monetary relief and for a federal monitor.
