FBI Offers $25,000 Reward To Catch Bank Robber Who Wounded Employee

(STMW) -- The FBI is offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a man who shot a bank employee during a robbery at a southwest suburban bank.

The reward was announced Thursday, ten days after an armed man entered the First Midwest Bank at 450 N. Bolingbrook Rd. in Bolingbrook just before noon, according to a statement from the FBI.

He walked up to a teller, brandishing a handgun, and "loudly announced the robbery," according to the FBI. During the robbery, a female bank employee was shot in the arm.

The suspect ran away after receiving an unknown amount of cash.

The victim was taken to Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital and has since been released, authorities said.

The suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, red Chicago Bulls baseball hat and a dark bandanna.

Anyone with information should call the FBI at (312) 421-6700 or local police.
