Fans Camp Near Wrigley, Hoping Tickets Are Released For Saturday's Game

CHICAGO (CBS) – You may not normally think of Wrigley Field as a campground, but more than a dozen diehard Cubs fans hope a night on the street will pay off.

Across from The Friendly Confines, a makeshift community of strangers gathers at Clark and Addison. Some refer to it as "Ticket Town" -- population 15 and growing as of Friday afternoon. Their goal is to snag tickets for Game 6 of the National League Championship Series on Saturday night between the Cubs and Dodgers.

The Cubs won't allow them to camp out near the ticket counter, so fans like Luis Delgado have relocated just outside a construction site and scaffolding across the street.

"I really want to go to the game, you know what I'm saying?" Delgado says.

His plan was to sleep outside, weathering the overnight drop in temperatures, the late-night noise from cars and nearby bar patrons and then at 8 a.m. Saturday get in line for hopefully four tickets -- if there are any available.

The Cubs say they won't know if they'll have tickets to release until Saturday morning.

Some of the would-be ticket purchasers say they'll try to turn a profit from their stay in Ticket Town; others hope for a chance to see baseball history themselves.

Police say they won't allow tents.
