Amphibians
Date: May 16, 2015 at 9 a.m. through 2017

This new, temporary exhibit includes a plethora of species and their incredible diversity, exceptional adaptations and the serious trials these creatures face. Metamorphosis is often a difficult concept for kids to understand, and this exhibit is a great way for them to gain an understanding of the complicated process.  Visitors can view the amphibians and the incredible changes they make. The Amphibians Exhibit is included with the purchase of a Total Experience Pass.

Travel With Shedd To Canada's Maritime Providence
Date: August 28, 2018 through September 4, 2015

Planning an educational escape with the family is made easy with the help of the Shedd Aquarium, where every detail is planned and coordinated by the Shedd Aquarium, making experiencing other countries a breeze. Travel to Canada's Maritime Providence is an experience that can be shared with the entire family, from kids to grandparents. There will be whale and bird watching, cruising across the Bay of Fundy, exploration of rugged coastlines and early settlements and vineyard distillery visits plus much more. Stingray Touch

The Stingray Touch is a seasonal, hands-on experience that is very popular with individuals of all ages. Visitors can reach in and touch the back of the stingrays to experience the texture of their skin; kids especially enjoy being able to touch the fascinating creatures. This interactive exhibit is an excellent opportunity to learning more about the incredible stingray. The exhibit is included with the purchase of a Total Experience Pass.

Summer Worlds Tour

Date: Session 1: July 6 through 10, 2015 at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Session 2: July 13 through 17, 2015 at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Session 3: July 20 through 24, 2015 at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Summer Worlds Tour offers kids entering kindergarten through fifth grade in fall of 2015 the opportunity to experience a week of adventure in Chicago's top museums. These include the Shedd Aquarium, the Adler Planetarium and The Field Museum. Activities will include investigating underwater environments at the Shedd Aquarium, hands-on activities, art projects, educational games and lunch along the shore of Lake Michigan.

Summer Road Trip

Date: Week 1: June 22 through 27, 2015 at 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Week 2: Aug. 3 through 8, 2015 at 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This exciting summer program is geared toward middle-school students, ages 11 to 14. The Shedd Aquarium is used as a home base and each day the explorers set out on a new adventure. Each destination will include outdoor activities and environmental investigations helping kids to connect to the living world. The week ends with an overnight stay at the Shedd Aquarium. Program costs and specifics are listed on the Shedd Aquarium website and there are scholarships available.
