Fairdale Mourns Two Women Killed By Tornado
(CBS) -- Clearer pictures emerged Friday of the two Northern Illinois women killed by tornadoes.
Both Geraldine Schultz, 67, and 69-year-old Jacklyn Klosa were friends and lived in Fairdale, which was leveled Thursday evening by an EF-4 tornado that reached 200 mph.
Schultz never made it to her own basement.
Her son-in-law, Roland G. Robinson, says she would give the clothes off her back to the people she loved. The family still doesn't know what happened Thursday night.
"My mother-in-law, she didn't make it downstairs," he told CBS 2. "Everybody was supposed to meet here. I don't know why it didn't happen."
Schultz's dog, a white German shepherd, is still missing.
Firefighters found the body Klosa Friday morning in what once was her bathroom shower. The coroner says she was still clutching her purse.
Klosa's home did not have a basement, and she apparently tried to ride out the storm in the shower.
Her friends remembered her as quick-witted and outspoken.
