Extra-alarm fire destroys house in Antioch
ANTIOCH, Ill. (CBS) -- An extra-alarm fire broke out in Antioch Friday afternoon and left a house in ruins.
The fire broke out in a house at 26026 W. Halings Rd., off Grass Lake Road, in the Lake County community on the Illinois-Wisconsin state line.
The response to the fire was raised to a second alarm for extra manpower and equipment.
The roof of the house was completely swallowed up by flames.
The home was a total loss, but no one was hurt.
The hot weather Friday also made the job even more difficult for fire crews.
