Entertainers Say Thanks To Young Volunteers At 'We Day' Event
(CBS) – It sounds like a Jennifer Hudson concert, and feels like a performance from Common. But it's not.
"WeDay" is a patchwork of corporately supported stories and songs stitched together by threads of inspiration. Kids from more than 600 schools from across Illinois took part in the event, embraced by stars like Chicago native Jennifer Hudson.
CBS 2's Jeremy Ross reports.
Students attended free, but had to take part in acts of service like fundraising for foreign developing communities to helping out at a food pantry.
