Emanuel Taps Sophia King To Fill 4th Ward Vacancy
(CBS) – There will soon be a new alderman for Chicago's 4th Ward.
On Monday, Mayor Rahm Emanuel named Sophia King, a 30-year Chicago resident, as his choice to replace Will Burns, who resigned earlier this year.
King is the founder of a not-for-profit that creates employment and other opportunities for African-American communities. She has also served on the Kenwood Park Advisory Council.
King will appear in front of city council's Rules Committee before a confirmation vote by the full council Wednesday.
King would then be sworn in.
