Eisenhower Expressway reopens after fatal crash near 17th Avenue

CHICAGO (CBS) — Eisenhower Expressway lanes reopened in both directions after a fatal crash in Maywood early Monday morning. 

Just before 4:20 a.m., Illinois State Police said a car hit a man standing in the roadway near 17th Avenue. Police confirmed the pedestrian was pronounced dead. 

No other injuries were reported. 

Lanes were shut down for an extended period. All lanes reopened around 9 a.m.
