EF-1 Tornado Touched Down In Ogle County Late Saturday, NWS Confirms
CHICAGO (CBS) -- An EF-1 tornado touched down late Saturday in Ogle County far west of the Chicago area, the National Weather Service has confirmed.
The tornado had maximum winds estimated near 100 mph, the NWS said.
The NWS shared photos of some of the damage.

The tornado started just west of Oregon, Illinois at 9:13 p.m. and continued for 11 minutes. It tracked 7 miles through mainly rural portions of central Ogle County and dissipated just before reaching Stillman Valley.
Its peak width was 400 yards.
Most of the damage was to trees and power lines, but some outbuildings and barns were also damaged.
A tornado watch had been issued for much of northeast Illinois closer to the Chicago area Saturday night, but it ended up being canceled early as the storms died down before reaching the Chicago area.
