Eddie Vedder Halts Wrigley Concert To Kick Out Unruly Fan
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder brought Monday night's concert to a sudden halt when he apparently saw a man in the Wrigley Field crowd harassing a woman, and kicked the man out.
As the band was performing "Lukin," Vedder suddenly told his bandmates to stop playing when he thought he saw a man being rude to a woman in the crowd near the stage.
"Hey! Hey mister! Hey, hey, get your finger out of that woman's face motherf…" he said, stopping himself before he got out the full expletive. "Hey mister, all the the fingers are pointing at you. Yep. Come on. Clear out, mister."
At least two fans posted videos of the incident on YouTube. It's not clear from the videos exactly what the man was doing to the woman.
The crowd cheered as the man left, and then Vedder checked to make sure the woman was alright, and praised another man who was with her.
"Ma'am, you're OK? Yeah? You're good? Alright, good. … That's a good man, taking care of your woman, and then she was taking care of herself too pretty good," Vedder said, gesturing that it appeared the woman was ready to punch the guy who had been harassing her.
Pearl Jam finished playing "Lukin" after the man walked off, and then launched into a performance of "Mind Your Manners."
