Early voting in Lake, McHenry counties starts Thursday; Next week for Chicago
LAKE COUNTY, Ill. (CBS) -- Voters in Lake and McHenry counties can start casting their ballots Thursday ahead of the Illinois primary in March.
Registered voters in Lake County can visit the Courthouse on 18 N. County St. in Waukegan. The lobby is open for voting from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays until March 1. County-wide early voting starts at 11 locations on March 4. Residents can vote at any of those sites.
In McHenry County, early voting will be available between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on weekdays at the County Administration Building at 667 Ware Road in Woodstock. Ten additional early voting locations will also open across the county on March 4, and early voting will be available until Monday, March 18.
The County Clerk's Office will begin to send vote-by-mail ballots to voters who have requested them or have signed up for the permanent vote-by-mail program.
Voters in Chicago have to wait one more week to start early voting.
Two sites in the Loop open on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 9 a.m. at 191 N. Clark and 69 W. Washington.
Early voting in all 50 wards begins on Monday, March 4 - the same day early voting will be available for all Cook County residents.
