Driver Hits 3 Other Cars In Kenwood After Fleeing From Police In Hyde Park
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A driver struck three other cars while trying to flee from police from Hyde Park to Kenwood Monday evening.
At 7:54 p.m., police said they were trying to pull over a black Chrysler 300 at Hyde Park Boulevard and Lake Park Avenue for having stolen plates.
The 21-year-old man driving the car fled north on Lake Park Avenue and sideswiped three cars in the 4700 block of South Lake Park Avenue about half a mile away, police said.
He first hit a gray Toyota Camry, then a gray Acura sport-utility vehicle, and finally a black Infiniti SUV, police said. The third collision caused the Chrysler 300 to flip over, police said.
Police arrested the suspect without incident. Meanwhile, the 43-year-old man who had been driving the Infiniti was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center for observation after complaining of shoulder pain, police said.
