Gorgeous weather week ahead for DNC; heat to return next weekend
CHICAGO (CBS) — Dangerous swimming and boating conditions continue through Tuesday evening as gusty winds behind the first robust cool front of the season create large, wind-driven waves.
Temperatures will be cooler than normal, with dry sunshine through midweek. Many areas will enjoy low temperatures in the 50s -- very comfortable weather for the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.
Monday night, look skyward to see the 'Sturgeon Moon' -- a supermoon that appears larger than a normal full moon and a blue moon since it is the third in a season with four. This month's full moon is named after the Great Lakes fish, which are easy to catch at this time of year.
We are tracking a late-season heat wave that is expected to blow into the area this weekend. It could potentially push high temperatures to the lower 90s, with temperatures that feel like 100 degrees.
Tonight: Partly cloudy. Low: 61
Tomorrow: Partly cloudy. Breezy north winds. High: 73
Wednesday: Morning fog, then mostly sunny. High: 77
