Tornadoes Hit Central Illinois
(CBS) -- At least four tornadoes have touched down in east central Illinois, weather officials said.
The Champaign News-Gazette says one tornado touched down around 7 p.m. Friday in the southeast part Champaign County, miles from the University of Illinois. The tornado was reported to be heading east, toward the Illinois-Indiana border.
Two residences and a corn crib were destroyed, but no injuries were reported, the Champaign County Sheriff's Department said on social media.
The National Weather Service says a total of four tornadoes touched down in east central Illinois. The others were in Vermilion and Clark counties.
