Dolton Police Sergeant Fired Following Missing-Gun Probe
(CBS) – A CBS 2 and Better Government Association investigation has led to the firing of a Dolton police sergeant.
Last month, CBS 2's Pam Zekman questioned Anthony Bankhead about a missing antique gun.
This week, Dolton's new police chief terminated Bankhead for failing to inventory that gun after it was seized during an arrest two years ago.
Bankhead allegedly made false statements during an internal investigation.
Bankhead is appealing the action and declined to comment.
