Pregnant Woman Recovered from Lake Michigan Identified As Missing 19-Year-Old Yarianna G. Wheeler
CHICAGO (CBS) — Lake County Sheriff's Detectives have identified a pregnant woman whose body was recovered from Lake Michigan Aug. 15 as Yarianna G. Wheeler, 19.
Wheeler had been living in Chicago but was originally from Bellwood. She was identified through dental records, according to a press release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
Detectives are now investigating the incident as a homicide. The autopsy revealed the woman had several sharp force injuries on her body, but the official cause of death is pending, authorities said.
The 19-year-old was about six to seven months pregnant. Her body was recovered by the Coast Guard about three miles southeast of Waukegan Harbor.
