Derrick Rose Set To Return For Bulls Against Heat
(CBS) After missing the past three games with right hamstring tendonitis, Bulls point guard Derrick Rose is set to return to the lineup for Tuesday evening's road contest against the Heat.
"I think it's a go tonight," Rose told reporters at the morning shootaround. "I just have to remember when I'm out there, it's a process. The way I was playing last before I sat out, that's the way I want to play. It's about building."
Rose participated in the shootaround without any setbacks.
Before this recent injury adversity, Rose was submitting the his best month since March 2012, as he averaged 21.9 points, 5.6 rebounds and 6.0 assists in February. He's averaging 16.5 points and 4.8 assists for the season, playing in 48 of Chicago's 58 games.
Rose has maintained and extolled the virtues of a cautious approach all season long, opting to be sit out often whenever he's experienced tightness in a muscle or has knee pain. He's done so with three major knee surgeries in his rearview mirror and in mind.
"It takes patience," Rose said.
