Death Of Man Struck By CTA Purple Line Train In Evanston Ruled Suicide
CHICAGO (CBS) -- The death of a man struck by a CTA Purple Line train late Friday afternoon in north suburban Evanston has been ruled a suicide.
The 29-year-old man jumped from the platform in front of a northbound train at 900 Foster Street at about 4 p.m., according to Evanston police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.
An autopsy Saturday found he died from blunt force injuries and his death was ruled a suicide, the medical examiner's office said.
CTA Purple Line trains were temporarily stopped in both directions Friday evening while police investigated.
