Dead Man Found In Douglas Park Lagoon

CHICAGO (CBS/STMW) -- A man's body was found in the Douglas Park lagoon Saturday morning in the North Lawndale neighborhood.

Firefighters were called to the 1400 block of South Sacramento Avenue about 11:10 a.m. Saturday, for a report of a person in the lagoon at Douglas Park.

About five minutes later, crews found the dead body of a man and turned the scene over to police, Langford said.

Police did not know the man's exact age, only saying he was an adult. Area Central detectives are conducting a death investigation.

The man remained unidentified early Monday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. An autopsy Sunday was inconclusive pending toxicology results and the police investigation.
