Day After 2nd Presidential Debate Like Aftermath Of Gutter Fight
(CBS) -- Trump and Hillary Clinton held back very little during the second Presidential debate last night in St. Louis.
Clinton declared that Donald Trump's vulgar comments about women reveal "exactly who he is" and prove his unsuitability to be president. Firing back, Trump accused her of attacking women involved in Bill Clinton's extramarital affairs and promised she would "be in jail" if he were president.
And both candidates are back on the campaign trail today.
The day after the second debate was like the aftermath of a gutter fight.
"It was unreal. Trying to watch with my three kids at the beginning I felt you needed a parental guidance warning," Chip Englander, a GOP consultant said.
Donald Trump's running mate stood behind the Republican nominee. "He really embodies the spirit of America: strong, freedom loving, optimistic," Indiana Gov. Mike Pence said.
And Hillary Clinton surrogates defended her performance. She got sympathy today from another former Secretary of State in Chicago.
"I cannot imagine what it must have been like for her last right. She really kept her cool, under the most abusive kind of language," former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright said.
But the GOP crisis continues to build after the release of Trump's lewd comments about women. House speaker Paul Ryan said he won't defend Trump or campaign with him, to which Trump defiantly tweeted:
Paul Ryan should spend more time on balancing the budget, jobs and illegal immigration and not waste his time on fighting Republican nominee

Campaigning in Detroit today, Hillary Clinton said Trump's comments make him unfit for office.
"Donald Trump spent his time attacking when he should have been apologizing," Clinton said.
And some insiders believe there could me more dirt coming, regarding Trump or Clinton.
"I think there's going to be more stuff that comes out before this third debate and more before this election," Englander, the GOP consultant said.
The next and final Presidential debate is scheduled for Oct. 19 at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. The format will be like the first debate.
