Dash-Cam Video To Be Released In Arrest Of Naperville Woman Who Died In Texas Jail

(CBS) -- Independent autopsy results for a Chicago area woman who died in a Texas jail could be released as early as Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the controversy continued in the death of Sandra Bland, whom authorities said committed suicide in the Waller County jail following her arrest during a traffic stop.

"Here in Texas, we are not afraid of ISIS. We are afraid of the police," Rev. Jamal Bryant said Monday at a news conference.

Bland, 28, allegedly assaulted a police officer during a July 10 traffic stop. Officials have said the former Naperville woman hung herself three days later in her jail cell, using a plastic trash bag.

The county sheriff says jailers failed to check on Bland in person, and instead used an intercom to communicate with her before she died on July 13.

Family and friends say the circumstances of her death are mysterious because Bland was not believed to be distraught. Questions have persisted about her arrest.

The county's district attorney, Elton Mathis, on Monday said Bland's traffic stop was not "model," but indicated Bland's behavior was not, either.

Dash-cam video showing the arrest was expected to be released Tuesday, he said.
