Cubs Fans Line Up Before Dawn At Macy's To Get Javy Baez Autographs

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Cubs fans are still on a World Series high, and many of them can't get enough of their favorite players.

Dozens of fans started showing up outside Macy's flagship store on State Street as early as 1 a.m. Monday for a chance to get an autograph from second baseman Javier Baez at noon.

The first 175 customers to spend $35 or more on officially licensed Cubs merchandise from the Locker Room by LIDS shop in Macy's on Monday will have the chance to meet Baez and have him sign a product.

Jose Castillo, 20, was among those waiting for Macy's to open at 10 a.m.

"I had to come down here. I missed the parade, but I'm not going to miss this," he said. "I'm a real big fan. I'm not really a baseball guy, but ever since I saw him play, that guy, he's been my favorite baseball player."

Evan Morrison, 21, got to the store around 1 a.m.

"I knew a lot of people would be here early, and I didn't want to be the one that didn't get to meet him," he said.

Thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the first people in line to meet Baez will be 7-year-old Anthony and his two brothers. Baez will meet them at noon, followed by the other qualifying Macy's customers.
