One hospitalized after CTA Red Line shooting; suspect in custody

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago Police are investigating after a shooting on a CTA Red Line train Saturday afternoon. 

According to the Chicago Police Department, a 21-year-old man was on the CTA train in the 100 block of West Cermak Road when when he was approached by a person who shot him in the calf. 

Sources tell CBS 2 that the victim and shooter were involved in a fight prior to the shooting. 

The victim was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was initially reported in good condition. 

The suspected shooter was taken into custody, and a weapon was recovered from the scene, police said. 

Charges are pending as detectives investigate.
