CTA Green Line Suspensions Begin Saturday

(STMW) -- The Green Line will experience partial suspension Saturday through Monday, as the CTA ramps up construction of the new Cermak-McCormick Place station.

The Roosevelt and 35th-Bronzeville stations will remain closed from Saturday 2 a.m. through Monday, 4 a.m., the CTA said in a statement. Trains will then resume normal operations.

During the suspension, free bus shuttles will be provided between the Roosevelt and 35th-Bronzeville stations, as well as free transfers back into the affected rail stations so customers can resume their trips, the CTA said.

Construction for the $50 million Cermak-McCormick Place station began last fall and is managed by the Chicago Department of Transportation.
