2 seriously hurt in Chicago expressway crash, state police say

Crash shuts down Eisenhower Expressway in Chicago

CHICAGO (CBS) — Two people were hospitalized following a crash on the Eisenhower Expressway early Wednesday morning. 

Illinois State Police said troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on eastbound I-290 at Kostner around 230 a.m. 

A driver and passenger in one of the vehicles were taken to an area hospital with serious injuries, according to police. 

All lanes were shut down for police investigation and traffic was rerouted at Cicero Avenue. All lanes reopened around 6:30 a.m. 

No further information was immediately available.
