Court Officials Suggest Alleged ISIS Wannabe Could Get Out On Bond

CHICAGO (STMW) -- Attorneys for alleged ISIS wannabe Mohammed Hamzah Khan say court-appointed advisers have recommended Khan be released from custody under a strict set of conditions.

Khan, 19, of Bolingbrook, made a brief appearance in court Tuesday morning. U.S. Magistrate Judge Susan Cox said she would rule whether Khan should be freed following a hearing scheduled for November 3.

Prosecutors have previously indicated they will fight to keep Khan locked up while we awaits trial on charges of attempting to travel to Syria and Iraq to join ISIS terrorists.

But at Tuesday' hearing, Khan's attorney Thomas Durkin said that pre-trial services, which routinely advises judges on whether defendants should be released in bond, "recommended release under certain conditions."

Those conditions include Khan's family posting property as a bail payment, Durkin said.

Cox delayed Khan's detention hearing until November 3, so that Durkin can try to make those arrangements.
