Corey Kluber To Start Game 4 For Indians
(CBS) After ace right-hander Corey Kluber fired a gem in a Game 1 win, the Indians will start him again in Game 4 of the World Series against the Cubs, Cleveland manager Terry Francona said Wednesday.
That means Kluber will be lined up to start three times in the World Series if it goes the distance. Assuming weather doesn't affect the schedule, Kluber will start Game 4 on Saturday on three days rest.
Kluber earned the win Tuesday with six shutout innings of four-hit ball. He struck out nine, including eight in the first three innings, which set a World Series record.
Kluber left Game 1 after 88 pitches, which Francona noted in dismissing concern about bringing him back on short rest.
Kluber is 3-1 with a 0.74 ERA in four postseason starts.
