Single digit feels-like temps ahead in Chicago

CHICAGO (CBS) — With the clouds moving out overnight, temperatures will drop into the teens with feels-like temperatures being in the single digits.

Wednesday will be the coldest day this week with highs only topping out in the lower 20s at best.

Due to the northwesterly breezes, Northwest Indiana has the potential for a few lake-effect snow showers and flurries. Flurries will also be possible in Illinois.

Our next greater chance of snow arrives Friday as the morning hours could be a little dicey with snow picking up through the morning commute. Right now, small accumulations are possible.

The cold air mass has a tight grip across most of the country. Here in Chicago, high temperatures for the rest of the work-week will only be in the 20s.

Temperatures in the 30s return this weekend, before a big blast of air returns one week from Tuesday.
