Chicago Civil Rights Icon Honored For Lifetime Accomplishments
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Special honors for Chicago civil rights icon Doctor Timuel Black.
Lawmakers in the Illinois state house have issued a resolution recognizing the doctor's lifetime of accomplishments.
The 102-year-old marched with Doctor Martin Luther King, wrote books, even helped the late Harold Washington get elected, becoming the first African American mayor of Chicago.
Doctor Timuel is currently in hospice care.
