Chilly Start To The Week, But Mid 70s By The Weekend

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago area residents will have to endure another day chilly conditions, but seasonably warm temperatures should return by the middle of the week, and climb well above normal for the weekend.

Monday's high of 55 is about 10 degrees cooler than the normal high temperature for this time of year. Though it will be a chilly day, skies should be bright and clear all day.

In fact, there's little chance of any rain all week, with forecasts showing no better than a 10 percent chance of precipitation through Saturday evening.

Temperatures will be crisp again Monday night, dipping to as low as 36, but then should begin a steady improvement throughout the week.

Tuesday will be cooler than average again, though slightly better with a high of 59.

By Wednesday, temperatures should reach the mid 60s, which is the normal high for this time of year in Chicago, according to the National Weather Service. By Friday, Chicago could see the return of 70s.

Saturday and Sunday, temperatures should top out around 75 degrees.
