Woman Charged In Fatal Bus Accident In Fulton County, Indiana
CHICAGO (CBS) --Authorities in Indiana have charged 24-year-old Alyssa Shepherd in connection with an accident this morning that killed three children and seriously injured another child as they boarded a school bus in Fulton County.
Shepherd, 24, was behind the wheel of a pickup truck that Indiana State Police said struck the children as they were crossing the street from a mobile home park near 4600 N. State Road 25 in Rochester around 7 a.m.
Shepherd was arrested at her workplace in Rochester, Ind. Tuesday and charged with three felony counts of reckless homicide and one count of passing a school bus with its arm extended, causing injury.
Authorities have said the three children who died were from the same family. The children who were killed have been identified as 6-year-old twin brothers Xzavier and Mason Ingle, and their 9-year-old sister Alivia Stahl. The 11-year-boy who was seriously injured is named Maverik Lowe, and is not related to the other three.
According to the Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation, the children were boarding their bus at the time.

Police said the bus had its stop arm out just before a pickup truck headed in the opposite direction hit the children. Shepherd stayed at the scene after the crash, and police said they don't believe alcohol was involved.
The school district has dispatched counselors to speak to students, teachers, and parents.
Shepherd was being held on $15,000 bond in Fulton County Jail.
