Child Seriously Hurt In South Shore Porch Collapse
(STMW)-- A child was seriously injured when a porch collapsed in the South Shore neighborhood Monday afternoon.
The porch in the 1600 block of East 74th Place gave way about 5:50 p.m., Fire Media Affairs spokesman Joe Roccasalva said.
A child was injured in the collapse and taken to University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital in serious condition, he said. An adult was also hurt but refused medical treatment at the scene.
Further details were not yet known Monday evening.
