Chicago Yacht Club Regatta races continue this weekend
CHICAGO (CBS) -- you may have watched it from the lakefront -- but you've probably never seen the Chicago Yacht Club Regatta quite like this.
The Sailing World Regatta Series is North America's largest regatta series -- presented every year by Sailing World Magazine. The series was founded in Newport, Rhode Island in 1988 to generate interest in racing a certain design of keelboats.
The Chicago Yacht Club is host of the event for 2022.
CBS 2 photojournalist Dave Kenebrew captured video of the sailboats racing on the lake Friday.
Top sailboat racers will compete for trophies and bragging rights.
The races continue through Sunday.
