Chicago Weather: Winter Storm Causing Delays, Cancellations At O'Hare, Midway
CHICAGO (CBS)-- The New Year's Day winter storm left some in the Chicago area without power and caused delays and cancellations at O'Hare and Midway airports Friday.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in place for all counties, except Lake (IL) and McHenry counties. Ice and snow is causing dangerous conditions on roadways.
As of 4:15 p.m. Friday, 230 flights were canceled at O'Hare Airport.
Midway Airport was reporting 42 cancellations.
The average delay time at both airports was less than 15 minutes.
ComEd was reporting 144 active power outages affecting 2,020 customers, and NIPSCO in Indiana was reporting outages affecting 14,204 customers.
