Chicago To Play Tornado Benefit Concert
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (AP) -- Grammy-winners Chicago will play a free benefit concert later this month to raise money for tornado recovery efforts in Illinois.
The Jan. 29 concert will be held at Bloomington's U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
Chicago's show follows a concert in early December that raised about $300,000 for restoration efforts. That show featured performances by Styx, REO Speedwagon and Richard Marx among others.
Starting Tuesday, people will be able to reserve up to four tickets to the Chicago concert.
Chicago's manager is Peter Schivarelli. He says in a statement that the musicians "wanted to do something special for the people of central Illinois who have suffered any type of hardship related to the tornadoes."
The two dozen twisters that hit Illinois on Nov. 17 are blamed for the deaths of seven people.
