What are the responsibilities of your current role?
"As an inside sales representative, I am responsible for generating and qualifying opportunities to help organizations solve complex business problems such as identifying credit card errors and preventing fraud. Through cold-calling efforts, marketing campaigns, and networking events I listen to our prospects challenges and recommend innovative ways to address those issues with technology."
What is your favorite part of your daily duties?
"[My] favorite part of my role is networking. Networking events takes away the office setting, but still allows business professionals to get together and discuss trending issues over food and drinks."
Do you feel your education prepared you for your current role?
"NIU equipped me with the educational and practical experience to make the transition into my career easier. I have leveraged many of the same tools (Salesforce.com) and concepts (SPIN selling) from my education into my professional career."
Do you have any advice for people who desire to pursue a similar career?
"Reflect on what your best characteristics are. If you find that you enjoy interacting with people and are self motivated, this can be a very financially rewarding career."
