Video shows Chicago Police officers save choking child on South Side
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Dramatic video shows a rescue on Chicago's South Side as police jump into action to help a young child suffering a medical emergency.
Officers were responding to a separate incident along Vernon Avenue in the Roseland neighborhood around 2 p.m. when they heard a mother scream for help, saying that her son was losing consciousness.
That's when the police moved in. One officer rendered aid to the child, who appeared to be choking.
After being treated, the child stood on his own and seemed OK. He was taken to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.
