Chicago Police Officer Accidentally Shoots Himself At O'Hare

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A Chicago Police officer accidentally shot himself during training at O'Hare International Airport on Tuesday.
Sources told CBS 2 the officer was reaching for his gun when it went off.
Ironically, the officer was training to learn life-saving measures such as applying tourniquets.
The officer was wounded in the leg and was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where his condition was stabilized, police said.
The officer is a 16-year veteran of the department.
