Chicago Man Charged In Dog-Fighting Operation

(CBS) -- A South Side man was ordered held on $30,000 bond Saturday on dog-fighting charges, reports WBBM's Nancy Harty.

43-year-old Clifford McNeil faces dog-fighting and aggravated cruelty to animals charges, both felonies, in addition to other, lesser charges.

Chicago police say they searched his home at 48th and Shields Friday morning and found 16 dogs, many of them gaunt, along with dog-fighting equipment, drugs and ammunition.
