Another Chicago hospital reports cybersecurity problem this week

CHICAGO (CBS) – Another Chicago hospital reported a cybersecurity problem this week.

Saint Anthony Hospital on Chicago's West Side confirmed hackers gained access to the hospital's computer network back in December. The hospital said some patient files were copied.

Investigators were still working to find out the full extent of the security breach as of Friday.

Last month, an investigation involving law enforcement and cybersecurity specialists confirmed that some patient information files were copied on Dec. 18. The hospital says it is working to "review existing policies and procedures and implement additional ones as needed."

A spokesperson for Saint Anthony said they have "no reason to believe there is a connection between this and the incident at Lurie."

Those wanting more information about the issue can call a dedicated assistance line at 888-368-7518, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Individuals can also find details on how they can protect their personal information and obtain more resources from Saint Anthony at 888-211-6763.

Earlier this week, a major network outage disrupted phone and internet service at Lurie Children's Hospital due to a "cybersecurity matter."
