Chicago Area Man Files Lawsuit Against Owner Of Ashley Madison Website

(CBS) -- A Chicago area man has filed suit against the company that owns the Ashley Madison website, saying his personal information was violated by the recent data breach.

In case you think everybody who uses the Ashley Madison website is married - the Chicago area man who is suing Ashley Madison - Matthew Lisuzzo - is single, according to his attorney Thomas Zimmerman.

"Mr. Lisuzzo has been a member of Ashley Madison since 2008," Zimmerman says. "He is a single man and he would like to continue to use the website in a secure fashion."

So Zimmerman says he's suing the owners of the website to try to guarantee security in the future.

The lawsuit also complains about "fake female profiles" it claims the Ashley Madison owners set up.

The parent company of Ashley Madison released a statement: "We are aware of reports concerning lawsuits being filed against Avid Life Media. Avid Life Media Inc. will address any litigation in the appropriate forum, and will not be commenting further."
