Charges Dropped Against CBS News Journalist Arrested At Canceled Trump Rally
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Charges were dropped Thursday against the reporter who was arrested outside of last week's aborted Donald Trump rally at the UIC Pavilion.
The joint Chicago Police-State Police statement said the decision to drop the charges against CBS network journalist Sopan Deb was made after a "methodical review" of video and interviews with the troopers and officers involved.
Deb has said he received no verbal warning before being slammed to the pavement and handcuffed and did not attempt to resist. The video, aired by CBS at the time of the arrest, showed no resistance.
Deb responded with a series of tweets.
