Channahon Police Seek Owners Of Headstone Placed In Halloween Display
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police in southwest suburban Channahon were trying to figure out how a real headstone ended up in a Halloween display.
WBBM Newsradio's Mike Krauser reports someone put the headstone with the name "Francis Nawrocki" in a family's Halloween display, and they have no idea how it got there.
The stone is fairly small, made of polished red granite, and edged with a cross and flowers. The only other words on the headstone are "Son" and the year 1959.
It was unclear if that's the year of the person's birth or death, as the headstone possibly could be for future use.
Police said an extensive search has turned up no clue about the family who owns the headstone.
"Extensive records searches throughout the state have been met with negative results," Channahon police wrote in a Facebook post.
