Changes Afoot At U.S. Cellular Field -- Especially On The Menu

(CBS) -- The changes aren't as visible at U.S. Cellular Field, compared to all the work at Wrigley Field.

But some might say they're tastier, CBS 2's Dana Kozlov reports.

A big part of the 2015 season will be focused on commemorating the White Sox's World Series win 10 years ago.

Sox fan selfies could end up on the scoreboard. And staffers say better come to the park with an appetite.

The field at "The Cell" is primed and almost ready for opening day next Friday. But it's what's happening inside the walls that fans might find particularly fabulous. Like the new food.

There's 35th Street Tacos, avocado-and-bacon grilled cheese sandwiches and the improved bacon on a stick. The new culinary offerings also include more gluten-free options.

But White Sox officials say the fun doesn't end with the grub.

In tribute to Sox legend Minnie Minoso, who died last month, personal items donated by his family will be on display inside the park.

Perhaps the biggest changes are things the fans will never see.  It's the new 14,000-square-foot player clubhouse, complete with lounge, rehab area and brand-new weight room.
