Cardinals' New Reliever From Korea Has The Best Nicknames

(CBS) As baseball fans here in America, we've become rather familiar with the epic bat flips by Korean players. Their exuberance over home runs -- and warning track flyouts, now and again -- is nothing short of hilarious and great theater.

Apparently, Koreans are pretty good at tabbing their top players with epic nicknames as well.

Amid a quiet offseason for them, the St. Louis Cardinals are on the verge of signing right-handed reliever Seung-Hwan Oh from Korea to bolster their bullpen, according to multiple reports. The 33-year-old Oh has 357 career saves in Korea and figures to set up Cardinals closer Trevor Rosenthal, but that's not what's most important here.

It's his two incredible nicknames: "Stone Buddha" and "The Final Boss."

The exact origins of Oh's nicknames aren't immediately clear during a quick online search, but all indications are that they're tied to the buzzwords that follow him: steely resolve, unflappable and unshaken. Sounds like a good enough reason for us.
