Four Injured When Car Slams Into Building On Pioneer Court Off Michigan Avenue

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A car lost control on Michigan Avenue Friday, driving across Pioneer Court and slamming into a building. Chicago police said an adult left the car with children--and the key--inside. One of the minors jumped in the driver's seat. Police said they accidentally put the vehicle into drive and caused the crash.

There were reports of at least four injuries, including three children and one adult.

The car apparently drove across the courtyard, between the former Chicago Tribune building and the Apple Store, just north of the Chicago River.

Video from witnesses shows bystanders comforting one of the injured.

One of the children was seriously hurt, officials said. A man was seen on the ground, bleeding, witnesses said.

The car was towed from the location shortly before 5 p.m.

This is a developing story.
