Brown Line trains halted twice in one evening

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Trains on parts of the CTA Brown Line were halted twice in one night Monday night.

Just after 9 p.m., the Brown Line was shut down for the second time between the Southport stop and the Kimball terminal due to police activity. The CTA was not more specific.

Earlier, trains did not run north or west of the Belmont stop due to unspecified Fire Department activity near the Southport stop, according to the Chicago Transit Authority.

The nature of the Fire Department activity was not immediately confirmed.
