Bronzeville School Evacuated After Fight Breaks Out

(CBS) – Three students at Dunbar Career Vocational Academy were taken into custody Thursday after a disturbance in the hallways.

CBS 2's Roseanne Tellez reports.

One Chicago police officer called it a free-for-all. What started with a false fire alarm ended with three students in custody -- and a great big mess in the school.

Cell phone video shot by a student shows the school-wide evacuation after someone pulled a fire alarm around noon. What it doesn't show was the all-out brawl that broke out in the halls afterward.

Chicago Public Schools officials say the disturbance ended quickly because of the actions of staff, police and firefighters.

"CPS will provide Dunbar with additional support and security staff today and for the rest of the week to ensure a safe learning environment," a CPS statement said.

Students say they are skeptical.
